Early One Morning - A Rhapsody for Brass Band
 
The treasures of the English folk tradition have long been a source of inspiration to composers, many of whom use the widely familiar thematic material to create completely new pieces of music.
 
Here, the composer’s fondness for the folk song, “Early One Morning”, is clearly audible. Fragments of the melody have been lovingly woven to create a variety of contrasting sections, each bringing a change in mood, beginning wistfully and ending brightly with a confident finale.
